Advocacy Services

• Community Alliance for Special Education (CASE)

  CASE provides the following services:

  • Technical assistance consultations to families and professionals on special education rights, responsibilities and services regarding specific special education students or issues;
  • Direct representation at Individual Education Program (IEP) meetings, due process mediations, and administrative hearings if necessary on behalf of students with disabilities and their parents; and,
  • Training on special education rights and services to parents so they to can better advocate for appropriate special education programs and services on behalf of children with disabilities.

• Disability Rights Advocates

  Non-profit law firm dedicated to protecting and advancing the civil rights of people with disabilities. DRA advocates for disability rights through high-impact litigation, as well as research and education. They do not charge clients for services.

• Matrix Parent Network & Resource Center

  Matrix is a parent-run information and resource center providing no-cost services to families of children with special needs (birth through age 26) in Marin, Napa, Solano and Sonoma counties. Matrix provides information, education and emotional support to parents so that they may better assist their child with special needs.

• Protection & Advocacy, Inc.

  Provides downloadable publications such as Getting Quality Special Education Services for Your Child, and Special Education Rights & Responsibilities for Children with ADD.
